The wavy surface effect is difficult to avoid without taking off a lot of metal.  Fortunately it's mainly below the normal insertion point for me.

Interestingly, the seatpost milling was paint-filled with Molteni Orange.  Hmm...maybe it did come from one of Eddy's bikes ;)
