Welcome to my
BICYCLE PHOTO GALLERY
I created this site to display photos of the current and former bikes in my collection. My main interest is Italian bikes from the 70's and 80's, but I've had a couple of American bikes as well.
I took all the photos in my garage. You can see and read about my photo setup (camera, lighting, backdrop, etc.) here.
I still have a few more bikes to add to the gallery (a list of them is at the bottom of this page), so please check back periodically.
Thanks for visiting. Feel free to write me with any questions or comments you may have to my email address.

WHAT'S NEW
NEW My latest project, a 75 Colnago Super, freshly repainted by Jack Trumbull at Franklin Frames.
I asked Jack to keep the paint very thin and to give it a low-gloss finish. He also mixed the Molteni Orange paint a little darker than what we normally see...which is correct but uncommon. There were many shades of Molteni Orange over the years, and most modern reproductions and restorations tend to go with a brighter orange. I am happy that Jack used this deeper orange, which is very elegant and very "vintagey" looking.
Decals are from Greg Softley, of course. Nobody else has quality and selection that he has. And just so I can say that I participated in the restoration, I selected and applied all the decals myself.
Now I have to decide what to build it with (either plain Nuovo Record or milled/drilled/polished Nuovo Record). Hopefully I'll manage to build it and ride it before somebody convinces me to sell it.
More pics coming soon.

I have a few sets of photos I took of OPB (other people's bikes). I won't include them in the main list of bikes below because they were never part of my collection, but they are still worth a look-see, so...here is the first one:
Anthony Nguyen's 1985 Ciocc, recently restored in Italy by Giovanni Pelizzoli, Mr. Ciocc himself. Click here for see all the photos.

WHAT'S NOT SO NEW
Splash Gallery of Horror Do you dislike Splash handlebar tape as much as I do? If you do, and even if you don't, check out this new fun section. (Posted September 10, 2010)

STUFF I NEED
NEW I need a tandem rear wheel (or wheelset), 140mm wide, with Shimano compatible freehub. An 8 speed cassette to go with it would be nice. If you have just the hub, in 40 holes, that may work too.
For an upcoming page on the CINELLI LASER, I'm collecting information on the history of this iconic bike. If you you have info on the origins of the Laser, who designed it and when, etc., I'd love to hear from you.
As part of my Laser history page, I will create a Laser Registry. If you have a Laser, please contact me.

THE D.I.Y. SECTION
HOW TO PAINT-FILL FLUTES AND PANTOGRAPHING My newest how-to page, right here. (Posted July 30, 2008)
PAINT TOUCH-UP TIPS As part of my Baby Blue 72 Colnago Super project, I put together a list of touch-up tips. You can find them at the bottom of this page. (Posted July 30, 2008)
As part of my Merckx Molteni Replica project, I created two pages about drilling and countersinking. There's one page for the chain ring I did, and another for the brake levers.
I polished quite a bit of parts for my De Rosa, so I decided to put together a POLISHING PAGE showing you how I polish aluminum alloy parts, here .
POLISHING SERVICES. For those of you who don't have the time, space or inclination to do your own polishing, I will be glad to do it for you for a reasonable fee. Contact me for a "polishing consultation."
And of course there's the PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS that you can find in my photo setup.

Purchased on eBay, August 2005.
I want to thank the following people for their help in sourcing parts for this bike: Nick Zatezalo, Hon Lee, Phil Sieg and Ken Denny. I hope I didn't forget to mention anybody - if I did, please let me know.
I took photos of the frameset
and close-ups of the bb shell
when I first got it in August 2005, so some of the experts on the C.R. list could use them to help me confirm the date of the frame. The consensus is that it could be as early as 1972, but not later than 1974. It was sold to me as a 74, so that's what I'm calling it. My thanks to Tom Sanders, Jack Gabus, Bob Hovey, John Jorgensen and Brian Baylis for their help in dating the frame.
